The 2024-2025 Pacific International Music Competition Winner’s Concert will be held at the Utzon Room at Sydney Opera House on Monday April 28th, 2025.
The registration for PIMC Winner’s Concert is opened to the candidates who are the First, Second, or Third Prize winners. (Priority of eligibility is given to First Prize, then Second Prize, then Third Prize. )

to PIMF
The Pacific International Music Competition was established in 2019. The competition is dedicated to promote classical music, to discover and support young musicians by providing them a professional learning platform, and to offer future performance engagement.
In the 2019 - 2020 PICM, over 20,000 NZD prize money was awarded. The Winner’s Gala Concert was held in the Sydney Opera House in January 2020. The PICM committee is glad to see that many of the PIMC alumni are currently pursuing music performance degrees across the globe.
In the 2024 - 2025 Pacific International Music Competition (Online) , there are three categories : Piano; Violin; and Lower Strings (Viola, Cello).
PIMC Winner’s Concert in Sydney Opera House - Utzon Room
The Sydney Opera House is one of the most iconic and distinctive buildings in the world, located on Bennelong Point in Sydney, Australia. Designed by Danish architect Jørn Utzon, it was completed in 1973 after a complex and extended construction period. The Opera House is renowned for its unique, sail-like design, which reflects its harbor setting and has made it a symbol of Sydney and Australia. It hosts a variety of performing arts events, including opera, theater, dance, and concerts, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognized for its architectural significance and innovative engineering.

Categories
The 2024-2025 Pacific International Music Competition (Online) is divided into three instrumental categories : Piano; Violin; and Lower Strings (Viola, Cello).
There will be classes by age, classes by grade, and Concerto Classes.
General Rules
1. Age Limit:
Age of competitor is to be taken as at 1st September 2024 in the year of the competition. Proof of age must be provided if requested.
2. Time limit: ( No penalty for overtime, the adjudicator reserve the right to stop the overtime performance video)
Class by Age:
11 year-old and under: 4 minuets
12 year-old and above: 5 minuets
Class by Grade:
No time limit
Piano Four Hand Class:
12 year-old and under: 4 minuets
13 year-old and above: 5 minuets
New Zealand Composition Class:
12 year-old and under: 4 minuets
13 year-old and above: 5 minuets
Concerto Class:
Own choice piece: 6 minuets.
No time limit for the concerto movement
3. Composer Periods:
Baroque Composer born 1600 – 1700 incl
Classical Composer born 1701 – 1799 incl
Romantic Composer born 1800 – 1879 incl
20th – 21st Century Composer born 1880 +
4. Application Fee:
Class by Age : $90 / Class
Class by Grade: Grade 1- 4: $70 / Class; Grade 5 - 8: $90 / Class
Grade Two Contrast Pieces: $95 / Class
New Zealand Composition Class: $90 / Class
Concerto Class: $200 / Class
Piano Four Hand Class: $90/ Class
5. Competition Date:
November 10th, 2024 (Online Video Submission)
competitor needs to submit the video Youtube Link(s) / recording(s), a scanned copy of each score and also a scanned copy of the candidate's photo ID to info@pacificinternationalmusicfestival.org by November 10th, 2024.

Trophies, Prizes, and Awards
Most of the candidates will receive awards from the following awards:
1) First Prize: Certificate, Assessment Report and Gold Medal
2) Second Prize: Certificate, Assessment Report and Silver Medal
3) Third Prize: Certificate, Assessment Report and Bronze Medal
4) Achievement Award: Certificate and Assessment Report
Additional Awards for the Concerto Classes
1)A Grand Winner Trophy will be awarded to the over-all winner of each age category in additional to certificate, assessment report, and medal.
Junior category (11 year-old and under) ,
Youth category(12 - 15 year-old) ,
Senior category (16 year-old and above).
2) High achieving players in the Concerto Classes have the opportunity to be invited to perform and participate in concerts and events held by Asia Pacific Performing Arts.

Registration & Repertoire Requirements
The registration for PIMC Winner’s Concert is opened to the candidates who are the First, Second, or Third Prize winners. (Priority of eligibility is given to First Prize, then Second Prize, then Third Prize. )
The registration of winners is completed online at www.pacificinternationalmusicfestival.org. The registration will be opened on November 30, and closed on December 31, 2024. Spaces are limited.
Recital participants are responsible for the recital fees:

1) A Solo recital fee is AUD $680 (max. 4 minutes performance);

2) A Four-hand recital fee is AUD $350 per member (max. 4 minutes performance);

3) 2 complimentary tickets are included per performer. Extra ticket can be purchased AUD $30.
The performer may play ONE piece of music chosen from baroque, Classical, Romantic or Post-romantic era. The Performers agree to perform repertoire that does not exceed the time limit allowed. Should a candidate exceed the time limit, he/she will be responsible to pay for extra cost.
